Notes

  1. Depending on wire length, masking hold points and before coating O.D. tolerances, certain criteria may apply.
  2. All coating systems are Zero-PFOA. PC 8-403, PC 4006 and PC 9020 series chemistries are chromic acid free.
  3. All coating systems are FDA approvable and biocompatible
  4. MCTPE Series, PC 8-403 Series and PC 4006 and can withstand 500° F continuous operating temperatures with intermittent 600° F. PC 9020 Series can withstand 400° F continuous operating temperatures with intermittent 500° F.”
  5. Medical fluoropolymer coatings are chemically known as either polytetrafluoroethylene (P.T.F.E), fluorinated ethylene propylene (F.E.P.) or in combination. PTFE is known as having excellent low friction and FEP as having excellent release. Depending on the end-use application, both chemistries provide low friction and release in varying degrees.

Additional Materials Information:

  • PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material in the world.
  • PTFE is impervious to many chemicals.
  • PTFE is insoluble in all known solvents.
  • PTFE is hydrophobic and oleophobic, and is not readily wetted.
  • FEP is an effective and versatile electrical insulator.
  • FEP is the most chemically inert of all plastic materials.
  • FEP is more flexible than PTFE, but less durable.
  • Both FEP and PTFE provide excellent lubricity.
