PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene)

PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene) is a fluorocarbon-based polymer. PTFE coatings can provide a low co-efficient of friction or slipperiness, corrosion and chemical resistance, heat resistance, dielectric stability, and chemical inertness to the surface of base materials. In addition, PTFE coatings are bio-compatible.

PTFE can also be combined with other materials, such as plastics, to modify existing characteristics of PTFE while imparting other unique properties to advanced technologies. Such properties commonly include hydrophobicity, special coloration, hardness, thermal insulation or conductivity, and electrical insulation or conductivity. The exact combination of PTFE with other materials is driven by the client’s particular application.

Precision Coating provides the benefit of many years of practical experience working with the chemistry of coatings on challenging applications within a multitude of industries. Precision Coating’s application specialists work with customers to develop and formulate a custom material to suit the specific application. Technicians can then apply the resulting material to customer components. Additionally, Precision Coating is ISO certified and qualified to provide traceability as required.

PTFE is used in a vast variety of applications including medical, aerospace, defense and industrial.
