PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) is a fluorocarbon-based polymer. PFA coatings can provide a low co-efficient of friction or slipperiness (0.10 kinetic), non-stick, chemically inert, with excellent dielectric strength (2000V/mil) and have a high operating temperature (500°F).
However, PFA is difficult to apply in thin films (0.001” or less) and the substrate must endure an elevated cure temperature (700° F).
