Precision Coating's PRECISIONFAB™ teflon coated fabric combine
the easy release and heat resistance of polytetrafluoroethylene (also
known as PTFE or Teflon®) with the strength and dimensional stability
of fiberglass, creating a product suited for a variety of demanding
industrial applications.
Dimensionally stabile in a range of temperatures from -100° to +550°F (-73° to 288°C), PRECISIONFAB™ is non-toxic, odorless, tasteless, and is FDA compliant (21 CFR 177.1550) for use in food processing, packaging and handling. The fabric is made from woven fiberglass cloth that has been coated with PTFE. PRECISIONFAB™ offers the added benefits of durability and extremely low elongation (<1%).

PRECISIONFAB™ Products
A PTFE coated fiberglass created for industryís most demanding applications. The extremely smooth non-stick surface of PRECISIONFAB™ Premium provides the best release, highest dielectric strength and greatest chemical resistance of any Precision Coating PTFE fabric. The woven fiberglass substrate, higher PTFE content and impression-free design of Premium Fabric makes it ideal for use with sticky or gummy materials, as well as in applications requiring an extremely smooth surface.
PRECISIONFAB™ Standard Fabrics
This PTFE coated fiberglass fabric is the workhorse of Precision Coating's product line, covering an extensive range of fabrics for a wide variety of industrial and general-purpose applications. Each fabric is manufactured from woven fiberglass substrates, possesses an optimal PTFE content, and leaves a minimal fabric impression. PRECISIONFAB™ Standard has excellent balance between heat transfer, release, and flexibility making it the top choice of value-conscious users.
PRECISIONFAB™ Tear Resistant Fabrics
Our strongest, most durable line of PTFE coated woven fiberglass fabrics integrates a proprietary additive to maximize flexibility and minimize tearing. PRECISIONFAB™ Tear Resistant Fabrics leave a minimal fabric impression and possess an optimal PTFE content. They perform excellently in high-speed packaging applications, and on surfaces where a degree of conformity is desired.
Designed to be "breathable" without sacrificing the non-stick properties of PTFE, Porous is manufactured from a woven fiberglass substrate coated with a uniform, light coating of PTFE. Porous PRECISIONFAB™ allows products to cure and outgas through the fabric. These unique properties are useful in a wide variety of industries, from the manufacture of polymers to use as a release medium for composite molding.
PRECISIONFAB™ Anti-Static Fabrics
A PTFE coated fiberglass specially formulated to dissipate surface static build-up during operation. Black in color, this product contains a proprietary static dissipation additive along with an optimum PTFE content and a woven fiberglass substrate for strength. PRECISIONFAB™ Anti-Static Fabrfic has the highest thermal conductivity (best heat transfer) of any of the PRECISIONFAB™ products.
PRECISIONSIL™ Silicone Fabrics
The most conformable, flexible, trackable, and wear resistant fabric offered by Precision Coating. PRECISIONSIL™ Silicone Fabrics are made from woven fiberglass substrates that have been coated on one or both sides with silicone rubber. PRECISIONSIL™ offers dimensional stability, durability, excellent tensile strength and low elongation. The productís surface friction is much higher than that provided by a fabric coated with PTFE, yet allows the user to retain comparable release characteristics. In fact, some products that may adhere to PTFE coated fabrics may not adhere to silicone coated surfaces. Choose any of a variety of PRECISIONSIL™ colors for use where a surface grip with excellent release is desired. Our PRECISIONSIL™ Silicone Fabrics are FDA compliant (Title 21 Part 177.2600) for use in food processing, packaging and handling. Termperatures range from -100° to +550°F (-73° to 288°C).
PRECISIONWEAR™ Fabrics
PRECISIONWEAR™ Fabrics are made from a very tightly woven fiberglass cloth that has been heavily coated with PTFE. This coating, combined with the excellent strength and dimensional stability of the fiberglass, results in a product appropriate for use in a variety of demanding applications. The fabric is manufactured using a non-metallic copper colored pigment, and reddish brown pigments. The final product has a very smooth, pinhole free surface with an enhanced abrasion resistant coating especially suited for food applications. PRECISIONWEAR™ are FDA compliant (21 CFR 177.1550) for use in food processing, packaging and handling. Termperatures range from -100° to +550°F (-73° to 288°C).
Heat Sealing Application Spotlight
Application challenge: the fusion of two or more layers of plastic packaging films by the application of heat, generally to close a package. Easy release of plastics from the heat-seal band, bar or platen is critically important to prevent damage to the seal, contamination of the seal bar, and constriction of product movement through the sealing process.
Solution: PRECISIONFAB™ Standard Fabrics placed over the heat-seal band. When used in conjunction with precise time and temperature control, PRECISIONFAB™ Standard Fabrics will achieve satisfactory release of the plastic material after heat-sealing. Proper time and temperature are both critical; even the finest PTFE products may stick if the temperature is too low or the heat-seal jaw is opened before or after the optimum cycle time.
